NSU First Kicks, Junior and Youth Training Structure and Vision and Philosophy

We want to develop the ethos that ‘Our Club’ is where young players get the best coaching

NSU Coaches will educate our players to play a progressive, forward thinking style of football within each of the development phases. Therefore retaining the ball, playing through the thirds and recognition of when and where to play forwards with variation and fluidity, which is key to individual and team progression.

In games we look to regain the ball at the earliest opportunity based on the opposition’s tactics and style of play, focusing on the transition of possession at all times. Honesty, hard work and commitment are all fundamental core values of the club and are expected from all players irrespective of age or position. We promote individuality and allow the players to express themselves, as we feel this is very important in our aim to produce skilful, talented footballers.

Training Structure

North Shore United are rolling out a new training structure and vision and philosophy for all Junior and Youth players. The aim is to offer a training structure which is :

  • Well structured

  • Affordable

  • Maximises development and enjoyment

  • Manages training loads

  • Enables the right environment for players to develop

  • Aligns with local schools football vision and philosophy

All players regardless of the team they are placed in at Junior and Youth level will have:

1 x Structured training session with club coach (except 15th & 17th Grade Championship & Conference who will have 2 team trainings)

1 x Game

All players are then invited to attend an additional training session for a small fee

At Junior Level = Skills Centre Session
