A hugely talented player, he scored a hattrick on debut for the All Whites against New Caledonia in 1971, and was named New Zealand Player of the Year in 1972. A North Shore United and All Whites legend, Adrian Elrick played over 300 games for North Shore United and 53 for the national team. Former All Whites coach John Adshead said of Duncan Cole: "Attitude, dedication and committment - Duncan Cole had it all". A first choice selection for the national team in its golden era, Cole was never one to shy away from the hard grind and the thankless work that is oft-ignored in a central midfielder. A national league winner and two-time Chatham Cup winner, Cole played 198 games for North Shore United between 1975 and 1988, also spending time in Australia with Camberra City.

A National League veteran who was the first player to reach 300 games in the domestic top flight competition, Keith Hobbs debuted for the All Whites in a 2-0 win over Fiji in February 1980.

Arguably New Zealand's greatest ever footballer, Wynton Rufer needs no introduction. With 59 goals in 174 games in the German Bundesliga as the striker for Werder Bremen and a member of the 1982 World Cup team, it's no surprise he was named Oceania Footballer of the Century by the OFC. Wynton played 11 games for North Shore United in 1998 as a player-coach, in between stints with Central United and the Auckland Kingz.

Known for his pace and aggression as a striker, Darren McClennan was part of North Shore United's Chatham Cup winning team of 1986. He debuted for the national team in the same year, and went on to score 12 goals in his 43 appearances for the All Whites.

A midfielder who began his career with North Shore United in 1985, he made 68 appearances with NSU before moving to Sydney Olympic in 1987. He debuted for the All Whites in a 1-1 draw against Australia in August 1990, and finished his career with 11 international goals in 56 official appearances.

The first Maori player to play in the English top flight, midfielder Heremaia "Harry" Ngata was a two time North Shore United Club Player of the Year and a New Zealand Players' Player of the Year in 1998. He made 28 appearances for the national team between 1993 and 2001.

The only goalkeeper in North Shore United's illustrious national representatives class, Batty played 82 games for NSU between 1992 and 1997 in a career that included time with the Football Kingz and Grimsby Town. Born in Auckland, he spent time in the Norwich City Academy as a teen, before returning to New Zealand and joining North Shore United. He made his international debut in a 3-0 win over Singapore in February 1995 and quickly became the first-choice goalkeeper. He won the New Zealand Player of the Year award in 1997, and since retiring has spent time as a goalkeeper coach in the US and with the All Whites.

A diminuitive but extremely effective striker, Elrick began his career at North Shore United in 1992. A national league winner with Central United and occasional Sky Sports commentator, Elrick made 30 appearances for the All Whites between 1995 and 2000.

A former North Shore United youth player, Ben Old is currently one of the premier attacking midfielders for the All Whites. He spent six years with the Wellington Phoenix before moving to Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne. A national representative at U17, U23, and senior level, he has so far made 12 appearances for the All Whites, but we expect many more to come.
