Volunteer For Shore
VOLUNTEER FOR SHORE!
BEING PART OF THE STORY
North Shore United (NSU) is the oldest football club in New Zealand. Founded in 1887 the club has offered the local community an opportunity to play sport, provided healthy activity and friendship for adults and children for over 130 years! Today’s world could not be more different than that of our early years but the club’s objectives as a community asset remain the same – to provide exercise, competition, and friendship through football.
WHY DO WE NEED VOLUNTEERS?
Volunteering has changed. The pace of life today means that many of us do not have much free time to volunteer for sporting or other organisations, even when we have children involved in the club. Volunteering now involves more job-sharing roles that fit individual time constraints. We recognize this and will always be flexible and supportive of individual needs. One thing however remains consistent: without volunteers, our club could not offer the range of training, coaching, and playing options that we provide for the community. Come and join us!
WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?
As an NSU volunteer you will be part of a friendly team of like-minded people. You will be trained for the role you choose, perhaps gaining new skills along the way. As a club we acknowledge and value our volunteers and what they do and we will give you clear lines of accountability to your Volunteer Coordinator (VCO) and encourage you to provide feedback to enable us to improve the experience for both players and volunteers. As a volunteer we will provide you with:
- A quality polo shirt that clearly shows you as an NSU volunteer
- A dedicated volunteers website page
- Regular volunteer emails with information on club functions and events
- An annual club funded lunch and “volunteer of the year” presentation
- A dedicated page in the club’s monthly on-line magasine to which volunteers are encouraged to contribute
