Summer Footy Code of Conduct
2025/26 SUMMER FOOTY CODE OF CONDUCT
Summer Footy is built on fun, fair play, and respect, for players, referees, and supporters alike.
By entering a team, you agree to uphold this Code and take full responsibility for your team’s behaviour both on and off the field.
EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL TEAMS
- Play for enjoyment. Compete with passion, teamwork, and positivity.
- Play by the rules and respect every decision. Remember, referees are here to support the game, not to be challenged (no arguing, no abuse)
- Lead by example. Coaches, managers, and captains must set the standard for behaviour at all times.
- Respect everyone. Opponents, referees, organisers, and spectators all deserve respect, always.
- Play fair, play safe. Hard tackles, dangerous play, or aggressive behaviour have no place here.
- End with respect. Shake hands with your opponents and thank the referee.
- Win with humility, lose with dignity.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Summer Footy is a family friendly, community competition.
There is zero tolerance for abuse, foul language, or violent behaviour from players, coaches, managers, or spectators.
- Any incident of verbal abuse, swearing, or intimidation toward referees, players, coaches, or supporters will be taken very seriously.
- Teams are fully accountable for the conduct of their players, coaches, and supporters.
- If anyone associated with a team breaches this Code:
- The team may be removed from the competition immediately.
- No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
Summer Footy will not allow children or families to witness poor behaviour, abusive language, or violence.
We are here to enjoy football, not tolerate abuse.
DISCIPLINE & MISCONDUCT
- Referees’ decisions are final. Their role is to support the game, not to be challenged or disrespected.
- Harassment, abuse, or foul language, on or off the field, will not be tolerated.
- Violence = instant removal of the team from the competition.
- SIN-BIN in use:
- Players may be sent to the SIN-BIN for dissent, repeated fouls, or poor conduct.
- The SIN-BIN duration is 5 minutes.
- Players in the SIN-BIN cannot be subbed or replaced during that time.
- Any complaints regarding a team’s poor behaviour will be reviewed, and may result in the team’s expulsion from the tournament (with no refund).
