NSU Valencia at the Albany Festival - 12th Grade
What a day at Rosedale Park on the weekend. NSU Valencia took part in the Albany 12th Grade Festival. Six games, a penalty shootout, and one big day of football.
Two wins, a draw and three losses across the day, including games against Auckland United FC Black (who went on to reach the Gold Cup final) and Silver Cup winners West Coast Rangers Black. No easy rides - and all the better for it.
Tournaments like this are what junior football is all about. Game time, variety of opposition, and a chance to test yourself against teams you'd never normally come up against. If your child's team hasn't entered a festival yet, we'd strongly encourage it - the format is fast, fun and the players come away having learnt more in a day than a month of normal fixtures.
A massive thank you to coaches Justin and Greg, manager Jack, and Zylen on the BBQ. And to the parents on the sideline - the support all day was exactly what the kids needed.
