140 years of history - now with a room to match

Three years in the making, North Shore United's new History and Heritage room is officially open.

What was once a storage room has been transformed into a home for the archives of New Zealand's oldest football club. The project sees the rescuing of decades of photos, programmes, team lists and memorabilia from boxes and cupboards around the clubrooms.

One wall tells the club's photographic story, including shots of founding member Charles Dacre. Another is dedicated to the Chatham Cup - six wins from 1926 to 1986. Season summaries, club records and histories are all archived, including Brian Bond's 90 Seasons, published in 1976.

The collection is still growing. If you have North Shore United memorabilia you'd be willing to donate, the club would love to hear from you.
