AGM 25 November 2025 at 7pm
Under the new Societies Act (passed in 2022), all incorporated societies are required to revise their constitutions to align with the new legislation and re-register by April 2026.
At NSU's 2023 AGM a motion to re-register was passed and at the 2024 AGM we discussed some proposed changes to member voting rights for the new constitution.
The final form of the revised constitution is attached and the adoption of this constitution will be put to a member vote at this year's AGM. The document is based on an MBIE template that includes all the clauses required in order to comply with the new legislation and has been adopted by other football clubs. The majority of the other provisions align with NSU's current Club rules. The key changes discussed at last years AGM have been included also, being: (i) parents of junior members get voting rights as guardians, (ii) lowering the member voting age from 18 to 16 to encourage engagement and (iii) any proposal to merge with another club requires a special resolution (80% member approval).
